Friends of the Shelter has established a special fund for the eight dogs and puppies saved from the killing at the shelter on August 4, 2008. Tangi Adopt A Rescue (TAAR) a Tangipahoa Parish animal rescue groups has the animals in their care and they will be available for adoption after a 2 week quarantine and another veterinarian health check.

As many animals lovers, I am very angry. As an active volunteer and foster pet parent with 2 animal rescue groups. I am outraged! Did you ask Burgees if he consulted the board before he ordered the killing? Did Dr Randall Toney examine them before thet were killed? What was the illness they all had? If it was kennel cough we know that is not something to kill a dog for. Some vets even say it is not necessary to treat it. Did Jay Callais give his aproval to do the dirty dead?God bless Rachel Sance……….and all of you there who are the voices of those who can not speak. I am sending a letter to G. Burgess and I can only hope people will remember what he did when it is time to vote again.
PS I will have a small check in the mail tomorrow AM.

I will find out if he did consult the board. Toney suposedly examined them before. First they said unknown airborne virus, and now they say Coronavirus. Jay Callais has not been the Sup since before Jan 08. Donald Dotey took his place per the orders of Burgess.
