Here we go again, the good old boys, teaming up and the animals die!
I afraid to check my email anymore… dog fighting is against Louisiana law, but the dogs fighters still go free.

E. Dauterive:Conscientious citizens worldwide are shocked by the recent acquittal of “Dogfighting Don” Floyd Boudreaux, 73, and his son, Guy Boudreaux, 44.
Renowned in fight circuits, the Boudreaux dynasty bred dogs for optimum “gameness,” selling them at up to $10,000 a head. The Boudreaux line set the standard in dogs raised to fight to the death. Yet, Judge Earles granted a motion for acquittal based on the state’s failure to prove these men were even involved in this illegal blood sport.
I implore Louisiana courts to recognize the gravity of animal cruelty crimes and establish a better precedent for prosecuting them.
Both men were charged with animal cruelty and illegal possession of steroids and a sawed-off shotgun. When law enforcement agents raided their Broussard, Louisiana property in early March 2005, they recovered typical paraphernalia: Dogfight magazines, photos, videos, and surgical gear to mend combat wounds. The Boudreaux compound was outfitted with treadmills for forced runs and break sticks to pry apart a dog’s jaws. Authorities seized more than 50 pit bulls, their faces gashed in old fight scars.
Michael Vick’s case brought dogfighting into the dens of mainstream America, illuminating its inherent violence. But in Lafayette, Louisiana a state judge clears two men so entrenched in dogfighting, they were openly revered for their champion bloodlines and prolific fight circles.
This case needs to be reopened, with a better interpretation of the evidence, so that Floyd and Guy Boudreaux are prosecuted to the fullest extent under Louisiana animal fighting and cruelty laws. Anything less is a grave miscarriage of justice.

Praise the Lord for this acquittal! Your previous letter is filled with inaccuracies and I hope that your readers will not take for granted that you have researched this issue thoroughly. It is not against the law to have a breaking stick, or other training equipment. It is not the responsibility of a breeder to know what every buyer may choose to do with thier pets. The Boudreaux’s, like many other Pit Lovers, had become involved with Sporting Dog Competitions. Just like any other breeder,or trainer of any other animal, they must be treated for injuries, trained through physical fitness tests, etc. Pit Bulls are not trained to fight. It’s genetic. They either do or don’t. Most do. If they get loose and choose to fight, a breaking stick is often necessary to prevent either animal from being harmed further. It is the ignorance of many humans that have given my beloved American Pit Bull Terrier a bad name! Please stop your slanderous reports. People believe you, just because you have a blog. Stupid, but true.

PS. The so-called “thugs” or “bloody dogfighters” description of the beloved Boudreaux family is further evidence of your complete and total disregard for people and thier constitutional rights. They have been acquitted due to the fact that the evidence showed them to be honest, upright citizens, with a love of dogs like no other people I’ve ever known. There was no evidence brought forth to convict these men of ANY wrongdoing. The statements made by the Trooper, the SPCA, and others contained many untruths. That is what was proven in a Court of Law. The Proscecution had nothing! The only injustices that occurred were the destruction of a great man’s reputation and sense of security in America, and of those precious animals that included the grandchild’s house dog, Girlfriend. How very sad.

The only real criminals here is the La. Spca and the Hsus. I for one will never donate another penny to either organization.
I will donate said monies to the Bordeaux family for legal fees in the civil action that is sure to come.

You want this man re-tried because he possessed a treadmill,breakstick, and multiple “pit bulls”? Give me a break! First of all if you can get that done then let’s go ahead and get Ceasar Milan also. He’s got all that too. He must be a dogfighting kingpin! And except for the pitbulls I also possess all that so-called “dogfighting” equipment. Yes my vicious beagles need to be well conditioned when they chase rabbits. If you someday would like to live in Nazi Germany just keep thinking that way! Shame on the inhumane society for killing those beautiful dogs! Shame on the HSUS for single handedly erasing a great bloodline ! And by the way…. have you ever heard of the concept of double jeapordy you communist?
